Circa 1890 Cunha Majolica Palissy wall plate decorated with three lizards, one retreating into its burrow, a frog, grub and two moths on green, mossy ground. Scalloped rim. Ochre reverse with two hanging holes on the foot. Impressed maker''s mark ''JOSE A. CUNHA PORTUGAL CALDAS RAINHA'' and stilt marks inside the foot. Good. No hairlines. Some flaking to the moss and a small flake to the grub. Kiln effect: shrinkage crack inside the foot. Restoration of one lizard head. Three restored chips to the foot.
