Victorian, date cipher for 1879 Large Wedgwood Majolica plate decorated with three birds perched on flowering branches. Three palm fronds joined in the center by a yellow ribbon. Cream ground. Dark pink, greek key border inside two brown bands around the rim. Cream reverse. Stilt marks inside the foot rim, along with impressed maker''s marks ''WEDGWOOD'', ''M'', ''D'' and date cipher for 1879. Painted pattern number ''2794''. Generally good. No cracks. No chips. One small flake to the inside brown band. Some wear to the raised moldings on the front. Staining to the front and reverse. Repaired hairline to rim and to the center. 12ins diameter
