Circa 1890 Majolica Palissy ''Paris School'' wall plate with a frog on a rock in the center, surrounded by two shells, a beetle and various leaves. Cobalt ground around the edge molded with a snake, lizard, grub, moths and a further shell. Mottled cobalt and brown reverse with two hanging holes on the foot. Three stilt marks inside the foot. Possibly Barbizet. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. Small flake to frog mouth. Old restoration of lizard head. 9.75ins diameter
