Circa 1850 Chinese Export Bird and Butterfly and sometimes referred to as 1000 bird and butterfly 5" plate. This plate is the first time that I have seen in this pattern. In addition to that the first firing of the outer border is pure gold. The quality of the butterflies is the best I have seen. There are more butterflies in this pattern that I have seen and that must be how it became named "1000 butterflies". Excellent Condition.
