Circa 1820 Chinese Export Rose Mandarin Plate measuring 8" in diameter. This is one of several rose mandarin and rose medallion plates that we recently purchased out of a New York Estate. This size plate is referred to as a dessert or luncheon plate. Excellent mandarin quality and in very good condition. Extremely bright colors of blue,pink,green with only minimal wear for this plate of almost 200 years old. Typical mandarin scenes of five ladies in a court yard scene. Nice gold in the hair. The border of the plate is decorated with roses, butterflies, and other greenery with a gilded rim. Minimal losses to gilding and to rim where these plates were handled.
