This is a new one on me and I simply could not resist it. This is a Mid 19th Century Blue Canton Dinner Plate measuring 9 7/8" in diameter. The plate has been hand painted with a scene of Gay Head Cliffs on Martha's Vineyard. This plate was probably sold as a souvenir and around the bottom rim there is writing that says "SOUVENIR OF OAK BLUFFS" which is the name of a town on the island. Art work is actually really good and obviously done by a art student or a skilled artist. Plate is in Excellent Condition with the exception of some light wear to the painting and one repaired chip on the plate.
