R.C.D. plate decorated in two tones of raised and tooled gold with a scene of Venus & Cupid. Venus is seated beneath a tree with a bird perched in her hand with a letter in its beak and Cupid behind her. The lobed border with fine formal gilding on a deep blue ground. Signed J J Brownsword. Red printed mark Circa 1884 Width 22.5 cm.
