Mason's Ironstone plate, Regency period circa 1810-1820. Imari colours and Willow Pattern scene with Chrysanthemum border. Heavy ironstone, with Masons backstamp and also that of the retailer: Thomas Higginbotham, 11 & 12 Wellington Quay, Dublin. The rear of the plate has little hand-decorated sprigs round the edges as per the Chinese style - I think to hide the kiln-rest marks. Plate measures 26.5 cm diameter (10.3/8 inches). Condition: No chips or cracks, has some wear to the pattern in the centre of the plate and has knife marks. A pretty display plate though, with good age and weight.
