LUNEVILLE KELLER & GUERIN RARE OYSTER PLATE. The florals are soft and delicate, and interior of plate is ribbed with impressed early marks including a K&G early backstamp. Crysanthe, Lunveville, and anchor impressed on reverse.Plate dates to mid 1850-1875. The French oyster plates were actually for holding Coquilles, or scallops as opposed to oysters.
A truly elegant French faience or majolica plate rarely seen in this form and exceptional condition. A must have for the collector of fine French majolica or faience. A fine plate which displays beautifully.
