Very nice Imari patterned ironstone china plate. Lots of cobalt blue, indian red and gilding. Printed mark to the rear: G. L. Ashworth & Bros, Hanley. But the crest is the Royal Arms mark of Hicks & Meigh for the Regency period, early 19th century. Possibly Ashworths were the retailer? Although Ashworths made ironstone china after 1862, also adopting the name Masons Ironstone China, after Masons themselves ceased manufacturing at this time. Plate measures 26 cm diameter (10.1/4 inches). Excellent condition.
