This is a lovely large plate by Imaemon Imaizumi XII in Nabeshima style decorated in underglaze blue and overglaze enamels on a very white ground. The reverse is decoated with caash symbols in underglaze blue and his signature.
The technique is such that the floral sprays seem to be coming out of the plate and a very interesting three dimensional effect is obtained.
The dish which measures 11in.or 20cm wide is in perfect condition and in its original box,a bonus as the tomobako is fully signed.I would date this to the 1950's or perhaps a little earlier.
As compared to his son whose work is perhaps better known I consider that Imaemon XII was better in many respects when it came to more traditional pieces and his body is much purer.
