Antique set of 6 Chinese ceramic plates. Made in China 18th century during the Qianlong dynasty, 1736 - 1795. Measurements:Plates are a little over 8 1/2 inches accross and 8 5/8 inches top to bottom. Plates are 6-sided with little nipped waists between each side. White ground with a slightly greenish/celadon tinge. The sloping sides have borders of blue and white flowers. An iron red arrowhead pattern surrounds the bowl and goes partially up the shoulders. Within is a Mandarin scene containing beautiful Chinese landscapes with cliffs, overhanging pine trees, water, pagodas in the background and a central boat with people on them One man extends his arms, another stands at the back. No two plates are entirely identical. The crane/heron that flies overhead is also different in each plate. Brightly coloured enamel flowers provide unusual additional interest. There are no signatures or marks on the plates, which makes them correct for the period. Condition is very good. THere is minor fritting and one or two spots where glaze did not take, original to the manufacture, but no chips/cracks/damage/restoration.
