A Set of Six English Armorial Plates Lovett family, Possibly Coalport, Circa 1810-20 The plates were made for the Lovett family. ;They are in a style originally made in 1735-40 in Chinese Export Porcelain with an octagonal silver form , the central well with famille rose depictions of exotic birds and rockwork and the coat of arms and crest on the border. ;The coat of arms are Argent three wolves passant in pale sable while the crest is A wolf passant proper. David Howard in his book, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, page 340, mentions that there have been two replacements for this service, this set made in the early 19th century (without motto) possibly at Coalport and others marked Copeland.
