Victorian, circa 1870 Wedgwood Majolica jug/pitcher which features a snail shell or ammonite in deep relief to the sides. Colouration: brown, green, purple, are predominant. The piece bears makers marks for the Wedgwood pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1870. Book reference not found. Good. Kiln effects: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the rim. Old filled chip to spout 7.1ins high, 5.5ins wide, 3.9ins depth
