Victorian, circa 1870 Set of three gradated George Jones Majolica wheat pitchers. White ground decorated with wheat ears and leaves rising up between a row of larger stiff leaves. Ochre rope twist border around the rim and foot, and entwined around the handle. Mauve interior and underside. Three stilt marks to underside. Good. Small: Kiln effects: thin glazed white ground, with brown pottery showing through in places; small shrinkage crack to rim; patchy glaze application around the rim; some green glaze run onto foot. Repaired hairlines to rim above handle. Medium: Kiln effects: thin glazed white ground, with brown pottery showing through in places; some green glaze run onto foot; firing pit to the front above base. Two repaired cracks to side. Large: Small rim flake and another to white ground under handle. Slight wear to leaf edge. Kiln effects: thin glazed white ground, with brown pottery showing through in places; some brown glaze run from base of handle; two over glazed firing pits to handle. Repaired cracks to base on both sides. 7.25ins, 6.5ins, 5.5ins high
