Victorian, date cipher for 1868 Minton Majolica pitcher with pewter lid. Decorated with holly and mistletoe on deep cobalt ground. Mask of a bearded man molded below the spout. Rustic branch molded handle. Pale pink interior and base. Impressed makers marks to base including ''MINTON'', ''580'' and date cipher for 1868. Raised pattern registration diamond. Good. No restoration. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. Some small flakes to the top of handle. Kiln effect: two over glazed shrinkage lines to the rim, eminating from fixing holes for pewter lid. Part of thumpiece for lid is possibly absent. 7.75ins high
