Circa 1870 Majolica novelty figural pitcher modeled in the form of a man dressed in robes, holding a scroll behind his back. Filling hole to man''s back and pouring hole to his chest. Ochre underside with three stilt marks and a painted mark. Good. No hairlines. No chips. Some small flakes to rim of filling hole. Kiln effect: some glaze thinning to shoes. Two repaired cracks to handle. 10.75ins high
