Victorian, circa 1880 George Jones Majolica ewer molded and decorated in a Palissy/Majolica style. Lizards, shells and foliage molded around the exterior, on cobalt bark effect ground. Handle in the form of a green snake with ochre underbelly. Mauve interior. Three stilt marks to underside of foot. Similar piece illustrated figure 60, page 39, ''Majolica'' by Nicholas M. Dawes. Good. No hairlines. No flakes. Kiln effect: small shrinkage crack to handle. Two repairs to handle. Restored chip to spout. 17ins high
