Jug / pitcher made by Chamberlain''s Worcester, England, 18th century. Measures a little over 4 3/4inches high.Octogonal base flares out and then turns back at 45 degrees. Scalloped rim with nicely curved spout. Handle in the form of a scrolling branch. Gilt highlights and scrolls. Background of upper section composed of tiny green leaves. Preserves on either side handpainted with beautiful flowers. Superb decoration characteristic of Chamberlain''s Worcester, amazingly fresh after more than 200 years. Petty wear to gilding on handle and inside rim. Painting and porcelain are in MINT condition. (we blacklight to check that there are no restorations).
