A Somerset Potters Works stoneware jug decorated in cobalt blue. Somerset Potters Works was also known as L.& B. G. Chase Pottery which was in business in Somerset Massachusetts during the years 1847 - 1882. This jug stands about 11" high. There is a small chip on the interior top rim and a firing flaw on the bottom. Otherwise good structural condition. There is discoloration throughout. The size is 2 gallon. The cobalt is a bit unusual as it actually is raised off the body so you can feel it. A good piece of Americana.
