Museum quality. A superb feldspar stoneware pitcher, dated 1843, likely Staffordshire. This beauty stands 9 1/4" tall and is glazed with an azure blue ground with fine relief moldings of hop leaves, barley ears and ferns. The swags of barley ears are yellow, with everything else white against the blue. Check out the twisted handle- everything about this piece is top notch. There would have originally been a pewter handle to go on top, hence the two holes that can be seen. There is a hairline on the top of the handle (not repaired), otherwise excellent condition.
