Limoge porcelain ewer. This is another excellent example of Victorian Aesthetic Movement porcelain. This dramatic French jug has bold purple lilacs waving among green and gold leaves on it's front and dragon flies playing on the back side. The shape and design of the handle is Egyptian Revival in feel. The back round color is cream and the handle is gilded. There is also brushed gold accents including the rim of the spout. Signed T & V on the base for the French maker Tressemenn & Vogt, mark 4a. Good original condition, with some wear to the gilded handle. Fresh from a local Brooklyn estate. 11" tall x 7" wide x 3 1/2" base diameter. Price 275.
