Circa 1770 Chinese Imari decorated cream or milk jug with a background that reminds me of mocha ware. Very unusual combination that I have never seen before. This background is also sometimes referred to as Batavia Ware. The jug measures 5 1/4" in height. Their is a hairline just left of the handle which runs about 2". A few firing marks in the brown mocha near the base. This is a combination with the chinese imari I have never seen before. Fresh out of a home in the historic district of Charleston, South Carolina.
