Italian Albarello of concave sided form, painted in ochre, yellow, green & blue with a central scrollwork cartouche of a crescent and a fleur-de-lis on a blue ground, a head painted to the lower portion, a further winged cherubs head below the large scroll bearing the inscription V BASILICONI (Ointment of Basilicon), the ground with scrolling foliage & berries, within yellow band rims.
Probably Faenza, c.1550

Condition: fair, has had re-touches to the ground and part of the arms. Still contains remnant of original contents!
