Fine blackware pottery jar from the late Chimu to early Inca period, ca 1300 to 1400 AD. Nicely burnished blackware pottery with molded decoration of a type of vegetative tuber - probably an important food stuff. Small monkey on the stirrup spout. 9" H and intact and near-choice save two small probe holes and small chip to rim of spout - but lovely burnished surface!
