Victorian, circa 1860 Staffordshire three dogs clock group. Classic Staffordshire group, poodle on top, russet and white and black and white spaniel either side of clock face. Dull gilt base line, collars and clock hands. Vent hole to underside. Similar piece illustrated Fig. 2957, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding. Generally good. No chips. Rubbing to gilt. Kiln effects: shrinkage hairline to base front; firing pit to underside; craze lines to reverse. Repair around the poodle and ground behind. Restoration of the poodle''s front right leg. Repaired crack to underside. Retouching to the ground, leaves, noses and markings. 9.25ins high
