pre-Victorian, circa 1830 Staffordshire Pearlware Bocage group with a Social theme which features a courting couple, seated on a shaped base. Multi-coloured version. Decorated in the round with decoration to the front and the reverse. Open bottomed. This piece represents the intricacies of courtship during this period of history. Under rim chip just visible when sat on a surface. Small flake to the reverse of the bocage. Kiln effects: touch mark to the skirt; glaze pops to the gent''s jacket. Retouching to the gent''s jacket and the green ground. Her arm reglued and join retouched. Remodelled sections of bocage, with only about 30% original intact. Gent''s head reglued and join retouched 8.1ins high, 4.5ins wide, 4.3ins depth
