Victorian, circa 1860 Staffordshire figure of a highland couple with bird and nest. Shredded clay decoration to side. Dull gilt decoration and base line. No book reference found. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. Tiny chip to reverse of base edge. Slight rubbing to gilt. Kiln effects: small firing pit to underside of base, another to front of man''s hat and one either side of the lady''s nose; a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze to the front of the base. Repair to bird''s neck. Retouched flake to the man''s nose. 6.75ins high
