Victorian, circa 1860 Staffordshire figure of two children with an oversized russet and white spaniel. The girl is sat on the spaniel''s back, and the boy is stood to the side. Dull gilt base line and decoration to clothing. Similar piece illustrated figure a2256, page 216, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 3, by A.& N. Harding. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. Some small flakes to base edge at reverse. Some rubbing to gilt. Kiln effect: slight staining to crazing on reverse. Restored chip to the girl''s hat, spaniel''s nose and base edge at side. Retouched flake to reverse, spaniel''s tail and reverse of boy''s hat. 7ins high
