Victorian, circa 1860 Staffordshire Group with a Pastoral theme which features a cow with children seated above it, recumbent on an oval base. Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Flatback, decorated only to the front. Multi-coloured, including underglaze blue. Vent hole to the reverse. This piece represents a meadow scene. No book reference found. Generally good. Tiny chips to base edge on reverse. Abrasion to cows nose. Some rubbing to gilt. Kiln effects: kiln soot caught in the glaze to the reverse. Restored chip to both hats, base edge at reverse and cow''s right horn. Restored flakes to both noses and boy''s left hand. Cow''s left horn has a filled in chip. 7ins high by 6.5ins wide
