Victorian, circa 1860 Staffordshire figure of a colorful dove perched in a tree above an egg filled nest. Shredded clay forms the nest and decoration to the tree. Dull gilt decoration and base line. Bird decorated all round. Vent hole to reverse. Similar piece illustrated figure 2847, page 234, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding. Good. No restoration. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. Flake to reverse. A few small paint losses. Very slight rubbing to gilt. Kiln effects: two pieces of kiln detritus to reverse and inside the nest; glaze miss to side of base. 8.25ins high
