Victorian, circa 1860 Staffordshire titled figure of John Wesley preaching from a pulpit above a clock face. He has an open bible in front of him, and two angels and a bird above the pulpit. Right arm molded free. Dull gilt title, base line, and decoration to clock face and pulpit. Painted mark to underside. Similar piece illustrated figure 376, page 148, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 1, by A.& N. Harding. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. Some rubbing to gilt. Kiln effect: touch marks to the reverse. Retouching to the black lectern, angel hair and greens. 11ins high
