Victorian, circa 1860 Staffordshire titled figure of Robert Burns. Modeled reading a book whilst leaning on a wall, with farming tools below. Free molded arms and legs. Dull gilt decoration and title. Vent hole to reverse. Similar piece illustrated figure 59 P, page 36, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 1, by A.& N. Harding. Generally good. Minor flaking to hands, scarf and top of wall. Minor paint loss to eyebrows. Black paint has faded. Bruise to base edge at reverse. Slight rubbing to gilt. Kiln effect: two firing lines to right leg. Restored flake to nose. 10.75ins high
