pre-Victorian, circa 1830 Obadiah Sherratt Staffordshire Pearlware Bocage figure with a Mythological theme which features a lady holding fruit, stood on a square base. Multi-coloured version. Double base line painted in red. Decorated in the round with decoration to the front and the reverse. Vent hole to the underside. This piece represents the Goddess Pomona. Book reference,''Sherratt? Small flake to her forearm, base of tree to reverse and one bocage leaf. Slight wear to corners of the base. Some wear to the tips of the bocage leaves. Kiln effects: firing crack to the one branch. Retouching to the green on the base. Retouching to the tree stump 7.5ins high, 4.3ins wide, 2.4ins depth
