Victorian, circa 1860 Staffordshire titled figure of Othello and Iago standing on an oval base. This figure is based on the Shakespeare tragedy Othello, The Moor of Venice. Iago''s right arm molded free. Dull gilt decoration. Two vent holes to reverse. Similar piece illustrated figure 1067, page 293, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 1, by A.& N. Harding. Generally good. No cracks. Hairline to reverse. Slight rubbing to gilt. Kiln effect: stray spots of cobalt glaze to reverse. Restoration to underside and much of base. Retouching to hair. Restoration to finger. 12ins high
