Victorian, circa 1860 Thomas Parr Staffordshire figure modeled as David standing on a naturalistic base, leaning against a rocky mound, with a sheep standing on top of the mound. Arms and legs of David and legs of sheep are molded free. Shredded clay decoration to the rock and sheep. Dull gilt decoration and base line. Similar piece illustrated figure 1725/1726, page 30, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding. Good. No restoration. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. A few minor paint losses to the rock, David''s eyes and one to reverse of his hair. Very slight rubbing to gilt. Kiln effect: fine shrinkage line to David''s right arm. 7ins high
