Victorian, circa 1860 Small pair Staffordshire russet and white seated spaniels. Dull gilt collar and locket. Black nose, yellow eyes, red mouth. Vent hole to reverse. Painted mark to underside. Generally good. Some rubbing to gilt. Right facing: Kiln effects: shrinkage crack between front and hind right leg; some crazing. Repaired hairline to face. Retouched nose flake. Retouching to russet markings. Left facing: Two bruises, one with associated chip to chest and another just above tail. Small flake to nose. Kiln effects: shrinkage crack between front and hind left leg, and another just below left ear; some crazing; piece of kiln detritus caught inside causing spaniel to rattle. Repaired crack to lower base edge at reverse. Retouching to face and russet markings. 5.5ins high
