Pre-Victorian, circa 1820 Small Staffordshire Pearlware figure modeled as a deer lying on a naturalistic oval base before flowering bocage. Ochre scroll to base. Decorated all round. Hollow base. Generally good. Two chips to bocage. Some small flakes to bocage. A few paint losses to the deer and ground. Kiln effects: over glazed shrinkage line under the deer''s chin; manufacture chip to flower on bocage; and shrinkage crack to the reverse, where the bocage joins the base. Restoration to reverse of one bocage section. 4ins high
