Figurine of a lady. Origins and date uncertain, but reminiscent of Staffordshire type of work, with Spanish overtones. Measurements: she is 9 7/8'' tall. Clearly Meditterranean type of lady with black hair and black-highlighted eyes, tight black bodice and black skirt under aprons. She wears a yellow cape, painted in a variety of tones and her white apron has trim in the same colour. It is also impressed with curling patterns and ties into a huge blue bow at the back. She holds a jug of the type used to carry wine or oil in the old days under one arm, while the other is placed on her hip. ROund base with RICORDO DI CALABRIA handpainted on the front. There is a printed MARK underneath - not entirely clear - see pictures. Condition: very good. No chips/cracks/damage of any sort.
