Victorian, circa 1890 Pair Staffordshire free standing St Bernards with glass eyes. Tan and cream markings with black whiskers, noses and claws. Bright gilt collar (almost completely rubbed). Decorated all round. Vent hole to belly. Good. Gilt rubbed. Right facing: Kiln effects: a few overglazed shrinkage lines to belly; piece of kiln detritus caught inside causing the dog to rattle. Repair to hind left leg. Retouching to mouth. Replacement glass eyes. Left facing: Kiln effects: shrinkage crack with associated flaking to mold join to dog''s back; shrinkage lines behind front right paw; kiln grit to side of belly. Retouching to mouth.
