Victorian, circa 1860 Pair Staffordshire seated spaniels both holding a basket of flowers in their mouth. Decorated with feathered russet markings. Dull gilt chains. Vent hole to undersides. Good. Right facing: Kiln effects: shrinkage crack to underside; kiln grit to reverse. Retouching to basket, russet markings and paws. Retouched flake to back of head. Left facing: Kiln effects: shrinkage line along the mold join over the spaniel''s back; piece of kiln detritus to reverse. Repaired shrinkage crack to the front.
