Victorian, circa 1860 Pair Staffordshire russet and white ''chunky'' spaniels, each with one front leg molded free. Dull gilt collar, locket and chain. Decorated all round. Vent hole to underside. Fair. Some rubbing to gilt. Right facing: Kiln effects: kiln soot caught in the glaze; overall crazing; piece of kiln detritus caught inside causing the spaniel to rattle. Repair to free molded leg. Restored chip to front left paw. Extensive repainting to the russet markings. Retouching to eyes, nose/muzzle. Left facing: Kiln effects: kiln soot caught in the glaze; overall crazing.
