Victorian, circa 1880 Pair Staffordshire figures both titled ''MILK'' on oblong naturalistic bases. One modeled as a young boy, the other as a girl both seated on a donkey with a pail of milk strapped to saddle of each. Three legs of each donkey molded free. Vent hole to reverse. Generally good. Boy: Flake to reverse of hind right leg. A few paint losses to the ground. Some rubbing to gilt. Kiln effect: crazing. Repaired crack along the mold join over the boy''s head and down both arms. Restored chip to the donkey''s right ear. Restoration of the donkey''s hind left leg. Retouching to the donkey''s right eye, reins and the boy''s shoe. Girl: Very minor paint loss to her skirt. Slight rubbing to gilt. Kiln effect: crazing. Repaired crack to the donkey''s neck. Repair to one ear, and restoration of the other. Repair to the donkey''s hind right leg. Retouching to shoe and mane. 8.5ins high
