Victorian, circa 1900 Pair Staffordshire recumbent lions on oval bases with orange glass eyes. Scarce versions of this model. Decorated all round in brown and cream. Bright gilt decoration to mane (almost completely rubbed). Vent hole to reverse of head. Slip cast molding. Generally good. Gilt rubbed. Right facing: Two small chips to underside. Flake to lower base edge at reverse. Replacement glass eyes. Left facing: Small chip and a few flakes to underside. Kiln effects: several firing pits to hind left leg. Replacement glass eyes. 9ins high by 11.75ins wide
