Victorian, circa 1860 Pair Staffordshire figures of a seated lady and gentleman, the lady has a young girl sat on her lap with a black cat on the ground below, and the gentleman has a young girl standing beside him with a black and white spaniel on the ground below. Well modeled with free molded children, pets, and arms and legs. Old dull mercurial gilt decoration and base lines. Good creamy glaze. Vent hole to bases. Generally good. Gilt slightly rubbed. Gent: Minor chip to reverse of the girl''s dress. Hairline to reverse. Minor paint loss to his shoe. Kiln effects: shrinkage crack underneath both his legs. Repair to his neck. Repaired firing crack to underside of base. Lady: Hairline to the reverse. Kiln effects: two shrinkage cracks to underside of base. Pieces of kiln dirt caught inside causing the piece to rattle.
