Victorian, circa 1860 Pair Staffordshire figures of children, each seated on the back of a black and white dog, possibly a collie. Porcellaneous. Free molded arms and legs. Decorated all round. Good creamy glaze with blue tinge. Hollow bases. Painted mark inside the base of the girl figure. Similar piece illustrated figure 2273, page 152, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. Very minor paint loss to head and nose of the girl''s dog. Repair to both children''s necks. Restored chip to brim of the girl''s hat. Restoration of the boy''s right arm. Retouching to the markings of his dog. 5.25ins high, 5ins wide
