pre-Victorian, circa 1830 Pair of Obadiah Sherratt Staffordshire Pearlware figures with a Theatrical and Literary theme which feature ''Tam O''Shanter'' and ''Souter Johnny'' holding drinks, seated on a square base. Multi-coloured version. Double base line painted in lustre. Decorated in the round with decoration to the front and the reverse. Vent hole to the underside. This piece represents characters from the Robert Burns poem, ''Tam o'' Shanter. Set in the late 18th century Ayr. Book reference,''Sherratt?
