Victorian, circa 1860 Pair Staffordshire figures of Prussian generals on horseback, both holding their hat with their right hand and the horse''s reins with their left. Front legs of horses are molded free. Bright colorful enamels, with old dull mercurial gilt base line. Good creamy glaze with blue tinge. Vent hole and painted ''34'' mark to bases. Minor paint losses to saddle cloth and bridle. Old repair to the general''s neck and shoulders. Repair down his back, over the horse''s rump, and around to the front. Retouched boot. Right facing: Minor paint losses to boot. Kiln effect: shrinkage cracks and two lines to top and reverse of base. Old repair to the general''s neck and shoulders.
