Victorian, circa 1860 Pair Staffordshire No.1 black and white seated spaniels. Ochre eyes and peach colored muzzles. Dull gilt collars, lockets and chains. Vent hole to reverses. Raised number ''1'' to undersides. Painted mark to underside of right facing. Good. Right facing: No restoration. Slight rubbing to gilt. Kiln effect: black glaze is thinly applied in places. Left facing: Small firing crack to front left paw. Some rubbing to gilt. Repaired crack running from right ear, across the neck, down the chest and over back to above the tail. Part of the crack branches out behind the left ear, the top of which is still just visible as a tight hairline. Retouched left eye. 12.25ins high
