Pre-Victorian, circa 1830 Early pair Staffordshire Sherratt-type table base figures of Elijah and the Widow. Both figures modeled sitting on a naturalistic base in front of a bocage tree. Elijah is feeding bread to two ravens. One raven perched on his right shoulder, another perched by his side on a rocky outcrop, above a stream. The widow has a barrel by her side with a pitcher in front, and is holding twigs in her hands. A young boy stands on her left side, also holding twigs. Decorated all round. Title ''ELIJAH &'' ''WIDOW'' on an oval plaque to base front. Good. Elijah: Slight rubbing to base corners. Kiln effect: a few glaze pops to front of bocage and reverse of outcrop. Repair to a few bocage leaves - overall, 80 percent good and original. Repairs and overpainting to ravens. Two front table feet repaired. Repair inside the table base at front and side. Widow: Some rubbing to reverse of tree trunk. Kiln effects: shrinkage crack to top of her head and a few inside the base; shrinkage line to boy''s right ankle. Majority of bocage and flowers restored, only 30 percent original. Repair to her left wrist and right fingers. Pitcher restored. 11ins high
